Butyl Acetate is prepared by dissolving butanol and acetic acid. This is used to make solvents as well as lacquers. This is functional as a fruit flavoring. This is utilized as a synthetic fruit flavoring in candy, baked goods, ice cream, cheeses, and others. Butyl Acetate is also useful as a high-boiling solvent accessible with moderate polarity. This is a solvent used for the formulation of nail polish. This is also used to make photographic films, plastics, lacquer, safety glass and artificial leather.
